It is with obvious joy that Nabil Chikh, Pharmacist and owner of the 24-hour Côte-des-Neiges Pharmaprix gave a $7,500 check to the MGH Foundation, to support the Montreal General Hospital’s Lupus Clinic.

Money was raised through the ‘Cultivate Women’s Mental Health’ initiative, part of the Pharmaprix Love You Program, aiming to support different local initiatives for women.

Lupus is a chronic auto-immune disease that can have heavy repercussions on the lives of people living with it. For a reason yet unknown, 90% of lupus patients are women.

The Lupus Clinic at the Montreal General Hospital treats Canada’s second-largest population of lupus patients. Its multidisciplinary approach has proved effective, and patients are referred to the clinic from across Quebec and sometimes even neighbouring provinces. Its team also conducts world-class research here in Montreal.
