Marketing and Communications Advisor

The Montreal General Hospital Foundation is seeking a Marketing and Communications Advisor to support its outreach and engagement efforts. Reporting to the Senior Advisor, Marketing and Communications, the successful candidate will play a key role within a dynamic, committed team in a stimulating environment of growth and innovation in healthcare philanthropy.

Main responsibilities

Multi-channel Marketing and Communications

  • Assist in developing and implementing the communications and marketing strategy to enhance the Foundation’s visibility.
  • Develop, write, and produce content for various print and digital platforms (brochures, website, newsletters, etc.).
  • Execute multi-platform communication campaigns (web, email, social media, etc.), especially for major fundraising campaigns such as Together Against Cancer.
  • Ensure message quality and consistency in alignment with the Foundation’s brand, mission, vision, and values.
  • Evaluate the performance of communications initiatives (e.g., analysis, reporting, recommendations).
  • Stay informed about trends in communications, marketing, and philanthropy.

Digital and Social Media Management

  • Manage and update the website (WordPress), ensuring continuous optimization.
  • Plan, write, and publish content for social media; actively engage with online communities.
  • Set up and manage digital advertising campaigns (Meta, YouTube, Google Ads, etc.).
  • Support improvements to donation and landing pages.
  • Propose innovative ideas to increase engagement with target audiences.
  • Event Support and Promotion
  • Support the planning and promotion of events (e.g., Soirée Impact & Innovation, Soirée en Or, etc.).
  • Create supporting communications materials (invitations, articles, visuals, videos, etc.).
  • Actively participate in events to ensure their successful execution.
  • Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in multi-channel and digital communications.
  • Event management experience is considered an asset.

Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent writing skills, particularly for web and social media.
  • Proficiency with relevant tools: WordPress, Google Analytics, Hootsuite, Meta Business Suite, Canva, and email platforms (Luminate, Mailchimp) or similar.
  • Autonomy, initiative and ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Creativity, attention to detail, and a results-driven mindset.
  • Excellent team player with the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Outstanding customer service orientation.
  • Adaptability and flexibility in a constantly evolving environment.
  • Excellent command of French and strong proficiency in English, as the role requires drafting content and engaging with audiences in both languages.

Working Conditions

  • Full-time position, 35 hours/week, Monday to Friday.
  • Hybrid work environment.
  • Three weeks’ vacation upon hiring, plus additional flex days
  • Employer-contributed RRSP.
  • Group insurance coverage.
  • Reports to the Senior Advisor, Communications and Marketing.
  • Start date: as soon as possible.
