Advocating for Maternal Mental Health

Andrea is a former patient of the Mental Health Mission and she now proudly advocates for maternal mental health.

‟I had always suffered from anxiety and depression: intermittently depression, more anxiety, but when I was 6 months pregnant, I started to feel quite depressed and it got worse and worse to the point where I could barely get out of bed.”

Today Andrea shares her story in order to help other women who are experiencing the same thing.

‟I think at the back of the head of anyone who’s been sick, either physical or mental, we have a big fear of it coming back. And it’s a very scary place to be but it does end. It does.”
