Stronger than ever, “Le groupe MusiArt” performs its new album “Résilience” in concert
The ‘Le groupe MusiArt‘ choir, made up of MUHC psychiatric outpatients and based at the Montreal General Hospital, presents its new album ‘Résilience’, featuring 16 original songs. The majority of these songs will be performed in concert on October 12, accompanied by exceptional musicians.
Produced by music therapist Dany Bouchard, the event is a fundraiser for the MUHC’s mental health music therapy program. Tickets include a copy of the CD and access to the concert (with a $40 tax receipt).
Originally scheduled for May 25 at the historic “Chapelle du Bon-Pasteur”, this event was cancelled due to a fire that not only damaged this magnificent heritage building, but also resulted in the near-total loss of the choir’s equipment.
Thanks to the generosity of our community, the choir is now able to return to the stage and offer a magnificent concert at the Plaza Theatre.
Tickets are limited, so don’t delay! A unique event, rich in emotion and music! All funds raised, through ticket sales and donations, will be used to cover the loss of instruments during the fire.
Date: Thursday, October 12
Venue: Théâtre Plaza 6505 Rue St-Hubert, Montreal, QC H2S 2M5
Doors open: 6:00 pm (Beverages available for sale) / Concert: 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm

What is music therapy?
When used by professional therapists in all of its facets, music has the ability to heal. At the Montreal General Hospital (MGH), music is used to connect with patients of the Mental Health Mission. Through regular sessions, patients get to access their emotions, express their feelings, and open new doors to healing.
The Music Therapy Program is known for its outpatient choir, Le Groupe MusiArt whose members meet every week to sing and also write their own songs. By doing so, they find new ways of expressing themselves. They develop friendships with each other and, most of all enjoy a pressure– and judgment-free zone.
Every time I participated in a music therapy session, I was blown away by how much good it did me. It gave me so much energy, so much joy! It’s incredible how much music can heal us.
