The Montreal General Hospital Foundation (MGHF) and Centech, the ÉTS incubator in Montréal, are joining forces to help emerging medical-technology companies reach key development milestones.

Over the next 18 months, the MGHF will award three grants to medtech startups, to be selected from three successive cohorts of Centech’s Propulsion program. The first grant will be presented on December 10, 2026.

A Leading Incubator

Each year, Centech supports more than 240 companies at various stages of growth. Its two-year Propulsion program is designed for startups that have already validated their solutions with customers and experts and are seeking to establish their place in the market.

Beyond Financial Support

The grants will be awarded based on health-focused criteria, including: the project’s potential impact; its ability to provide concrete solutions to healthcare system challenges; the maturity of the entrepreneurial approach; and the extent to which the grant can serve as leverage to secure additional funding.

Benefits will extend beyond funding. We will open the Foundation’s network to these startups, connecting them with medical and clinical experts who can help them better understand healthcare needs, as well as donors, partners, and investors who could support their growth.

This partnership adds to the programs our Foundation has put in place to advance innovation, alongside our Impact Investment Program, which provides convertible loans to healthcare startups. Together, these initiatives enable us to support and accelerate innovation to benefit patients, today and in the future.
