The Future of Surgery: Dr. Liane Feldman
Surgery is a major, potentially life-changing event that can drastically improve a patient’s quality of life. At the Montreal General Hospital alone, 10,000 patients underwent surgery every year pre-pandemic. And of course, the number of people needing surgery is on the rise. Annie DeMelt interviews Dr. Liane Feldman, Surgeon-in-Chief, MUHC about a 10-year plan to make surgery safer, and more precise, with faster recovery for patients and with better results: The Future of Surgery.
This project includes investments in robotics, artificial intelligence, computer-assisted surgery, and Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) pathways, among others.
This interview was recorded as part of our CODE LiFE campaign.
Dr. Feldman’s project is part of Together Against Cancer, a unique collaboration between the Cedars Cancer Foundation and the Montreal General Hospital Foundation. Our goal is to raise $100 million to support transformative projects that will improve the experience, quality of life, and outcomes of cancer patients. Join us and give the best you can.
