Taking the Pulse: Noémi’s Story – Surviving Sarcoma

At just 17 years old, during the pandemic, Noémi was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. A rare form of bone cancer, it’s the same kind Terry Fox had.

She shares her story in the latest episode of Taking the Pulse (in French), our series of interviews with doctors, researchers, and patients.

Being diagnosed with cancer at such a young age could have brought her down, but Noémi chose to fight. With the attentive support of the medical team at the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC), she endured difficult treatments, including chemotherapy and surgery, with impressive bravery.

Noémi’s story is not just one of personal accomplishment. It’s also a poignant reminder of the importance of research and medical advances in the fight against sarcoma and other forms of cancer.
