Support Personalized Cancer Care

On February 9, 2021, we held an interactive discussion about the ground-breaking “Organ on a Chip” research under the leadership of Dr. Lorenzo Ferri at the Montreal General Hospital. To watch the recording of the webinar and learn more about personalized cancer care, click on the video below.

We are so grateful that you have supported our thoracic surgery team in the past, either by making a donation or by attending our annual gala. This year, we ask if you would consider the tally of what you would have spent on your stunning outfit, dancing shoes, gala ticket, auction and raffle purchases and donate it to our campaign for Personalized Cancer Care?

The surgeons who care for our cancer patients also lead the research, as part of the Program for Innovative Therapeutics in Lung and Esophago-Gastric Cancers. They are committed to developing and bringing patients the latest and most effective cancer treatment options and our annual gala raises funds to support this. The Gala name, Soiree en Or, was chosen to describe the gold standard of care our teams strive to deliver.

Our solicitation campaign will support:

1) Our living bio-bank, where our dedicated research teams can grow tumor cells and screen them for the most effective cancer-fighting drug, offering patients personalized cancer treatments.

2) A new and revolutionary “Organ on a Chip” project. This uses a complex piece of hardware, the size of a USB key to grow cancer cells in a way that closely replicates the environment of cells in the human body. This is the next level in living bio-banking technology and helps validate the unique drug or drug combination to fight patient-specific tumors.

If successful and with your support, we will be the first in the world to use organ-chip technology in the fight against cancer.

Together with our co-chairs Brenda and Samuel Gewurz, Evelyn Wajcer and Lawrence Vatch, we invite you to continue to help give our patients a second chance at life by making your contribution to our campaign today.

BE A PART OF THE SOLUTION, Thank you for giving generously.
