Being a woman should never stand in the way of happiness, success or health. Some diseases, however, mainly affect women. This is the case with Lupus, which affects nine times more women than men; depression, which affects twice as many women; and breast cancer, which will affect one out of eight women in her lifetime.

At the Montreal General Hospital Foundation, we are proud to support programs and initiatives that offer the best possible care to women suffering from these diseases. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we are also pleased to to support research projects in these fields, right here in Montreal.

On International Women’s Day, we invite you to take a moment to learn how your donations impact the lives of women in our community.

‟Through all that, it was reassuring to know that I had access to the best possible care. The team from the Lupus Clinic would stop at nothing to help me. I’ve made tremendous progress through the years. I’ve learned to accept that the disease is not going away. Today I know that every day is a blessing, that’s why I’m fundraising and I’m giving back.”  Read her story
