Hockey 911: $270,000 to Support Vital Care

Mission accomplished! The second edition of Hockey 911 – the first one in virtual mode – not only brought together hockey fans and A-list guests, but also raised $270,000 to support vital care at the Montreal General Hospital (MGH). It was a great success for this annual event celebrating the Montreal Canadiens’ 100-year relationship with the MGH emergency and trauma teams.

Thank you to the 1,100 registrants and the even greater number of viewers who enjoyed interviews with Shea Weber, Brendan Gallagher, Nick Suzuki, Claude Julien, Kirk Muller, France Bélanger, Dr. David Mulder, Dr. Willem Meeuwisse, Graham Rynbend, Dr. Ewa Rajda and Dr. Thierry Pauyo live in the comfort of their homes. Thanks also to our surprise guest Laurent Duvernay-Tardif who brought a different perspective on the world of professional sports and medicine, and finally, thanks to our hosts, the talented Gregory Charles and Chantal Machabée.

We were extremely pleased to have had the opportunity to produce the event again this year – completely adapted to our new 2020 reality. The enthusiasm of the participants as well as that of the media leads us to believe that the pleasure was shared!
